ON GOD AND HIS CREATIONS
Our solemn prayers to thee our Creator
Do accept our thanks and profoundest regards
For giving us things to sustain our life
Natural beauties to feast our eyes
Air to breathe life into our system
And sustain life for the living beings
Water to quench our thirst
For ensuring body functions so varied
And water the plants for farm produce
Thus helps us to make food to meet our energy needs
Besides keeping our body strong & healthy
This energy helps us do our day-to-day functions with agility
Whence haunted with incidents most unexpectedly
He bestows us His needful succor
Without letting us even asking, ever
For our most Dear One knows about needs of ours
Being omniscient and omnipotent beyond doubt
How can we suspect about His existence then
When He is the architect of our own creation.
Prevailing delusions about God bind us in one form or the other. Some say God exists and others just question His existence and argue: if God exists; has somebody seen Him in Person and proof thereof, if God has created all this creations then who has created the God, etc. There is also the cynicism about One or too many Gods – causing confusion in the minds of the people. Given this context, the question about the powers of our Akalpurakh / Bhagwan /Allaha/ Lord/ Creator besides, more importantly, the question as to how He came into being has been delved umpteenth times by different saints, sages and rishis. Despite of all explanation, skepticism still clouds our mind space due to myriad of perceptions. It goes to prove that Infinite God and reason why He created the finite creations is still stuck/ latched in His Maya which doubtlessly is all encompassing. It has no beginning or end has been amply demonstrated. Also, without finite (which is based on the Law of Relativity), Infinite (based on Law of Absolute) can exist but not the other way around. Our body is finite but consciousness is part of Absolute Consciousness. Furthermore the common thread of interdependence that exists between Creator’s creation for survival is undisputable and flawless, we tend to agree this reality or not hardly matters.
In Bhagwad Gita Lord Krishna mentions that material nature (Prakriti) is manifested automatically (Avasham). Nature (Prakriti) acts on its own and transformation of matter and living beings are both products of material world. Even our modern science concludes that all material world works in accordance with the Laws of Nature – in fact made and sustained by our Creator. It is also amplified that God does not interfere in the working of the Laws of Nature and it is also a fact that even God is not immune to His own creation (Natural Laws manifested by Him)! Not obeying these laws by the humans leads to unpredictable consequences – this fact has been demonstrated time without numbers.
As law of causation (reasons for creation of something and other related questions) applies to God’s creations only including humans and that is why these have finite existence. Everything that happens (good or bad) takes place due to some cause or reason. Laws of Nature too have their own independent causes and effects thereof while functioning.. It should never be forgotten that ‘time’ is a great healer for a unsuitable happening. We possess limited knowledge about everything that is created beyond and around us. Everything that glitters is not gold hence in our ignorance we tend to believe that what we see and know is the truth but there is something more to it than what meets the eyes – that is Eternal Truth. Anything which exists has a cause to exist according to His Supreme Will. Questioning His Will and its existence or creation is therefore a total fallacy. Creation is there because God has created it but who created Him is a moot question. It can also be argued that all the laws of caution is applicable only to the creation and not to the Infinite Creator. It can also be said that everything that comes out of Him could be dissolved in Him through His power.
Due to our ignorance we are unaware about the true nature of our Soul (Atma). This ignorance is synonymous with cloud which hides the luminosity or glare of the Sun. We give more credence to our body and act as such. We put limits to our Soul (Atma) due to our ignorance (Ajnana). When Eternity of our Atma is visualized in its totality through self awareness through sincere meditation then subsequently we are able to know about the Super Soul. Having achieved this, everything falls in place – realization of Absolute Truth.
Being humans, our thoughts have inherent limitations, but our ego thinks it otherwise – never agree this reality. This is due to the fact that we are oblivious of self-knowledge (Atma-Janana). Due to lack of self-knowledge, we always think that a particular thing is our creation which is not a whole truth. Till such time we follow the twin paths of morality (Yama) and discipline (Niyama) and thus gain self realization by delving inside us, we may not be able to know what we actually are and what our function is as humans. By being egocentric, we’ll neither know our true nature nor the true nature of our Creator. It should never be forgotten that we are merely playthings in the hands of our Lord and what we are today is due to His blessings. The prescription for knowing the whole truth about our Creator is to firstly know how much truthful we are about own self.
Coming to connectivity with God, it does not happen just with a wishful thinking or praying or meditating for the sake of getting something but when it is accompanied with utmost sincerity and honesty. Persistence is the key for all these. Mere remembering Him as if we are casually calling some stranger just will not help. Remembering Him with zeal as though our very survival hinges on Him will help.
Some of us must have practically experienced, whenever we are faithfully focusing on God, there is a creation of positive energy and a feeling of being merged with a power which cannot be explained in words. Every individual is different so attentiveness on our Creator also differs and the result of that attention too differs in degrees. When we look within our own self, we see Him – just formless Light of Infinite. It can better be inferred that those who have experienced the truth are away from all the delusions and also His Maya. It is also a fact that those who has got self realization through self effort can conveniently judge the truth about His existence.
In Bhagwad Gita it has been amplified: Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and ego are the eight types of Creator’s nature and these are the constituents used for the creation of the world. These are the lower lifeless nature of the Creator. The superior energy (conscious) is of the Creator (the life-element) by which this universe is sustained.
This completes the assertion of creation and its sustenance. Then question arises; if the law of causation does not apply to our Creator then how come we ask; ‘Who created the Creator’? In fact there is no ifs and whats and other questions asked about our Creator. Facts stands out that our existence is due to our mother and father and this has been continuing from ages together.
CONNECTIVITY WITH GOD IS ATTAINABLE
Different religions are like different pathways for connectivity with the Source, but the most favored one is the path which is followed with unmitigated devotion, or with heartfelt love for God. God recognizes and accepts the worship of those who worship without any doubt about His existence. It can better be said that the penance gives results only and only when we are pure in our Karmic deeds (in Satvika Mode), possess compassion for others, bereft of jealousy, anger or greed for anyone, no reaction based on unethical emotions on any event or occurrence, consider everyone equal, respect everyone’s freedom to follow his/her faith, and finally obey Laws of Nature.
